My brother’s friend is mildly red-green colourblind. He too dreams of becoming a pilot. Maybe something in the genes? He can perceive most colours normally.

I must say out of all the resources I have found online yours in the most comprehensive, Daniel. I know I’m colour-blind, just like my Grandfather. So much for the dream of becoming a fighter pilot. Oddly enough, I did become a graphic artist.

I’ve been going through all the tests on your site, being curious just how skewed my perspective is on the world. From all the tests I deduce that I have a deutanomaly. I can make out the numbers a protanomay would. Based solely on the numbers I could distinguish. I failed miserably when it came to the confusion plates, But Farnsworth’s 15 I flew through and appear to be completely normal.

I first realized I was colorblind when my professor be-raided me for painting a purple cone green in our still-life. In my defense it was severely backlit.

And to address Sarah’s question about perception of color, I know grass is green and raspberries are red- and I see them as such, in my estimation. But, I can never find raspberries on the bush, they just seem to disappear.

This was actually a pretty interesting little interview. It’s informative to get a deeper dive on how color blind people perceive the world compared to those who are not color blind. Thanks for posting this.
