"I would like to see the world as everyone else can and I would like to be able to name colors correctly."

Surely not if they grew up in a society where other around them might also be colourblind.

"First of all you can’t really improve color vision, you can only let’s say adjust your color sensation."

Bi-optics for those with visual acuity defficiencies are similar in this way, they extend their effective visual acuity at the expense of peripheral vision.

"But most important: Don’t wear them for driving! If you come into dim light situations like a tunnel you might have some problems with judgment of distance or motion which isn’t safe for driving."

Well, while for all drivers to be have adequate colour vision (along with depth perception and visual field) from the practiacl standpoint is the best default, I did discuss another idea with Brian Chandler form the grey means go blog.

There are some scientists who claim that they have modified the color vision on a species of monkey. I guess it will take some time before they will try this out on humans. In the meantime there still is an inexpensive, pretty useful tool on the market; the Seekey.

Very Infomative post. You made some good points that we still need to wait for the right technology for people who are having color blindness. THanks for sharing

I have just had my first pair chromagen lenses last 5month, and recently i been to UTAMA Optometrist,TTDI, Malaysia to purchase my second pair contact lenses for Color deficiency.

It seems work for 1-3weeks, one night when i take out and watch the color seems fading out.

It might be the reason why,"HASLITA" eye been infected, i do feel my eye allergy and infect after few days. Get back to UTAMA OPTOMETRIST there, the malay guy reject to change or refund for me, said it will happen sometimes.

It doesn't happen on my chromagen lenses, once i wear back my lenses it feel much comfortable and nice color.

I should check from internet first before i purchase at odd color lenses, suspect it import from CHINA bad manufacture.
