Thanks for listing the main problem colors; the list will probably come in handy some day... I'm red-green color blind, and it's always really frustrating trying to explain to people how I see things when they ask me. They generally start testing me, starting with a "moderate" green or a "moderate" red, which of course, looks green and red to me, respectively, and then they get confused.

Michael, all hidden plates of any set of Ishihara plates can only be seen by colorblind people. Have a look at my set <a href="http://www.colblindor.com/2007/02/15/ishihara-plates-color-blindness-test-in-a-leaflet/" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

This is an interesting situation. Many might say that it is fair for there to be perks. Surely though as there are more color mormals than colorblinds the competition in relative terms will not be that excessive for the more privelidged colorblind posts. In absolute terms, however, they might be. With colorblind simulators around, I would have thought that it would be relatively easy for a determined CN to simulate color blindess mentally. I am (nearly) color normal and think I can conceive the blue, yellow, brown world of the proto or deutronope. (But how do I know what anyone sees) . The best way of catching a pretent color blind out would be by the isopseudochromatic plates where things are seen only if you are colorblind, but even then it is thought that with adequete self training someone could learn to ignore the signals provided by the missing cone and see the hidden pattern. But can the response ever be spontaneous. Maybe setting the subject a task with the cards but putting something distracting in it, seen only by color normals, disabling their ability to do it may be one way forward
