I find this post to be very interesting. I think I'm a little color blind in terms of what I like to eat, but, because I have a family (with toddler-aged children), I make it a priority to have colorful meals. Usually that means I cook big meals, but hey, if it's healthy, that's all that really matters!

My brother and I are both colour vision deficient, when he was younger he became anaemic due to a low iron count and we have a strong suspicion this was because his diet despite attempts at fruit and vegetables he was strictly meat and potatoes.

I've made grate strides in my diet, including all colours of pepper and citrus fruits but there are some foods which just look wrong to me still.

Beetroot looks like it's soaked in black ink and mushrooms like a really sickly grey. And are thoroughly off-putting to me on sight alone.

Also, if I happen to be cooking mince, I get someone else to check it's cooked through becasue the transition from raw through to cooked I cannot see, or if I am by myself I have my mince extra carbonised just to be certain!
